DEVELOPING SCIENCE CURRICULUM FOR STUDENTS OF THE FIRST YEAR PREPARATORY STAGE IN THE LIGHT OF MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCE'S THEORY AND ITS EFFECT ON THE DEVELOPING ENVIRONMENTAL CONCEPTS, VALUES, AND DECISION-MAKING SKILLS

Summary 
Disorder of environmental values for individuals is considered from the most important reasons that led to world suffering from environmental problems because environmental problems are behaviors resulting from absence of “environmental values”, developing “environmental concepts” is considered definite necessity of planting and developing values and skills of environmental decisions making, in favor of preparing human for fruitful interaction and effectiveness with his environment and acquiring several environmental values from here significance of developing concepts, values and skills of environmental decisions making in human’s conduct in accurate environmental behaviors and “science” methodology is from methodologies that can achieve that development. 
Educational process success in achieving these objectives depends on considering individual differences of educators, if educational process success depends mainly on considering individual differences, one of the most important phenomena of individual differences is “intelligence” that many psychologists believe that it is one mental property, however Howard Gardner occurred a sustainable change when he put basics of multiple intelligences theory which suppose that every human owns several intelligences and not one intelligence, it is distinguished in one type or more, he supposes several types which are: linguistic intelligence, logic intelligence, spatial intelligence, motional intelligence, musical intelligence, social intelligence and personal intelligence then he added two other intelligences which are natural intelligence and values intelligence. 
One of the most important multiple intelligences theory applications is subjecting methodology and activities content and evaluation methods, according to students intelligences and methods they prefer to learn, it emphasized opportunity availability for every student to learn according to intelligences types that he is distinguished by. 
Research Problem
What is the proposed imagery of science methodology of first prep grade in view of multiple intelligences theory for developing some concepts, values and skills of environmental decisions making for its studiers? 
The following sub inquiries are subdivided from this main inquiry: 
1. What are environmental concepts that should be included in science methodology of first prep grade? 
2. What are environmental values that should be included in science methodology of first prep grade? 
3. What are skills of environmental decisions making that should be included in science methodology of first prep grade? 
4. What is the proposed imagery of science methodology in view of multiple intelligences theory for developing concepts, values and skills of environmental decisions making for first prep students? 
5. What is effectiveness of developed methodology in developing environmental concepts for first prep students? 
6. What is effectiveness of developed methodology in developing environmental values for first prep students? 
7. What is effectiveness of developed methodology in developing environmental decisions making skills for first prep students? 
Research Hypotheses
1. There are statistical significant differences between average degrees of experimental groups students in environmental concepts test after and before teaching developed methodology in favor of post application. 
2. There are statistical significant differences between average degrees of experimental groups students on environmental values scale after and before teaching developed methodology in favor of post application. 
3. There are statistical significant differences between average degrees of experimental groups’ students on skills of environmental decisions making scale after and before teaching developed methodology in favor of post application. 
4. There are statistical significant differences between post average degrees of experimental and control groups students in environmental concepts test in favor of experimental group 
5. There are statistical significant differences between post average degrees of experimental and control groups students on environmental values scale in favor of experimental group 
6. There are statistical significant differences between post average degrees of experimental and control groups students on environmental decisions making skills in favor of experimental group. 
Research Objectives
Current research aims at: 
1. Developing some environmental concepts for first prep students. 
2. Developing some environmental values for first prep students. 
3. Developing some environmental decisions making skills for first prep students. 
Research Limits
1. Random sample represented for first prep students in one of governmental schools in education bureau in Giza in 2009/2010. 
2. Limitation in the following intelligences (linguistic – sport logical – spatial – motional – musical – social – personal – natural and values intelligences). 
3. Experimenting unit of “multiplicity and adjustment in living organisms in curriculum of first prep students’ science subject in first school term in 2009/2010 after developing it in view of multiple intelligences theory, and effect of that in developing some concepts, values and skills of environmental decisions making related to unit subject. 
Research Significance
o According to those in charge of preparing and planning methodologies, books authors and teachers guides: 
1. Presenting a model of developed methodology for science in view of multiple intelligences theory which provides those in charge of educational process with a group of basics that may benefit in designing similar methodologies. 
2. Presenting a list of environmental concepts and others with environmental values and others with environmental decisions making skills that can be included in science methodology of first prep grade that may benefit methodologies planners and executives in this field. 
o According to educators of science in preparatory stage: 
1. Developing science methodology of first prep grade in view of multiple intelligences theory including educational activities, teaching methods that may help educators in developing some concepts, values and environmental decisions making skills for their students. 
2. Presenting a study unit in view of multiple intelligences theory through which educators are trained on preparing educators for developing concepts, values and environmental decisions making skills. 
Research methodology
The researcher uses in conducting this research: 
§ Semi experimental methodology: For identifying effectiveness extent of developed methodology based on multiple intelligences for developing some concepts, values and environmental decisions making skills. 
Research Tools
To answer research inquiries, the researcher designed and used the following tools: 
1. A test of environmental concepts related with unit being experimented 
2. A scale of environmental values related with unit being experimented 
3. A scale of environmental decisions making skills related with unit being experimented 
Research Procedures
To answer research inquiries, the researcher made the following steps: 
1. Reviewing previous studies and researches related with research variables to reach basics that benefit in developing science methodology of first prep grade in view of multiple intelligences theory and measuring its effect in developing concepts, values and environmental decisions making skills. 
2. Preparing a list of environmental concepts and other with environmental values and a third with environmental decisions making skills that should be included in science methodology of first prep grade. 
3. Reviewing content of science book of first prep grade and teachers guide by the aim of extracting environmental concepts and situations that develop included values and environmental decisions making skills. 
4. Preparing proposed imagery of science methodology of first prep grade in view of multiple intelligences theory for developing concepts, values and environmental decisions making skills. 
5. Identifying unit that will be experimented from proposed imagery of science methodology, it is a unit of multiplicity and adjustment in living organisms: in curriculum of first prep students in science subject in the first school term in 2009/ 2010. 
Research Results
§ Results related to the methodology with all its components: 
1. Preparing lists of concepts, values and environmental decisions making skills that can be included in science methodology for first prep grade. 
2. Presenting a proposed imagery of science methodology of first prep grade in view of multiple theory including some concepts, values and environmental decisions making skills. 
§ Results related to science educators training programs of preparatory stage: 
1. Currently, science educators in preparatory stage don’t have a sufficient skill of class management in view of using strategies, teaching methods, activities and methods of evaluation that correspond with multiple intelligences theory particularly mental storm, cooperative learning, learning in groups and others generally active learning strategies. 
2. Currently, science educators in preparatory stage aren’t able sufficiently on method of preparing, planning, implementing and evaluating lessons by using basics and principles of multiple intelligences theory. 
Research Recommendations
§ Recommendations related to science methodology 
1. Making use of lists of concepts, values and environmental decisions making skills that the researcher conducted when putting a document of science methodologies for primary and preparatory education stages. 
2. Connecting lists of concepts, values and environmental decisions making skills that the researcher conducted specifications composing student books and teachers guides of science subject and as criteria to judge them. 
§ Recommendations related to science educators training programs in preparatory stage: 
1. Training science educators in all educational stages on skill of class management in view of using strategies, teaching methods, evaluating activities and methods that correspond with multiple intelligences theory particularly mental storm, cooperative learning, learning in groups and others generally active learning strategies. 
2. Training science educators in all educational stages on method of preparing, planning, implementing and evaluating lessons by using basics and principles of multiple intelligences theory.
